New Holiday Products 2009!

Ok, a lot has happened since I updated last. I will start out with our new holiday line that came out this month. It is a wonderful smelling product line called Mirabelle Plum Spice. It is a warm, slightly floral and fruity scent that people just can't get enough of! I highly recommend trying some at your next Spa Party or asking your rep to whip it out the next time you see her. Here goes...

Mirabelle Plum Spice Foaming Body Scrub ~ This two-in-one foaming body scrub contains gentle cleansing ingredients and walnut shell powder that leave your skin smooth, soft and smelling delicious! I like to use it at the sink on my hands since it cleanses and exfoliates at the same time. Plus the smell is just heavenly!

It makes a great stocking stuffer gift or for that teen who is hard to shop for!

Where's that Sensaria Chick?

Holy smokes Batman! Did you all think I fell off the face of the earth? Well maybe! I just got super busy with life after our National Convention. My son started a new school in July and we had some major behavior problems with him so I just turned my focus onto helping him. He was asked not to come back to the school in September so I had to find a new one for him again. It was a lot of research which I did last spring when I knew I wanted to find something better for him. However, my top picks were already full so I was running out of options fast. I did decide on a school at last and he is doing well and thriving in it. I guess there was too much of a personality clash with the teacher in the other school. We still struggle with his behavior but it is no where as severe as it was this summer. Let's see what else...

We took a trip to Disneyland in August and then had my husband's family from Sweden visiting us in September. We had a lot of fun and I am glad to have taken some time off. I even got a new team member too which is exciting for me! However, when you take time off from your business it is sometimes hard to get started again. It's a good thing it is the holiday season because there are a ton of fairs, bazaars and events going on so my calendar is getting quite booked. I will always have time to do Spa Parties because I love them so much. Ok, that enough blabber from me. Back to product tips!

Wow! I just got home from our National Convention this weekend which was a blast as usual. It was an informative, inspirational, energizing, motivating, heartwarming, compassionate, giving and compelling weekend. I don't know if I have enough words to describe it all! Of course, one of the most exciting things they reveal at Convention is our new product line for Fall 2009! As sad as I am to see at least one of our products to be discontinued at the end of the month ... I am super excited to have these 4 new products to replace them. I just tried this last night and wow ... what a difference already! It was super gentle and the volcanic micro-crystals were so fine and soothing. You definitely needed just a small amount and if there is a little water or moisture on your skin, then it helps it go a little further. I love the other scrubs we have but this one takes it to a whole new level. I bet even people with sensitive skin would enjoy using this product too. It has that nice blue tint which means Azulene is a key ingredient. It is soothing and calming since it is derived from the Chamomile plant. I sure can't wait to try it again! You can even use this with your Clarisonic too which is what I am going to do next time!

After doing some research, I found an interesting WikiPedia article as it gives an overview of what the term means and the different methods you can get microdermabrasions. I also found very well done web site called www.skinabrasion.net which is written by a lady who gets regular treatments at the dermatologist. She has also reviewed various in-home products to help maintain her skin between professional treatments. Maybe we can get her to review Sensaria's newest product?

I have yet to try these two products since I was thinking of trying to get some before and after photos. Wait until you see the one in the catalog! It is unbelievable! I miss our Sweet Orange scent when they discontinued it in 2008 and I am glad I still have 1/2 of a bottle left. However, I am so happy to have a replacement for it now! The new lotion is slightly different than the old Sweet Orange Body Lotion but I don't mind the difference at all. It is a bit richer but of course blends in without any greasy feel. The scent is a little more on the tangerine side of citrus for me and that mix with warm vanilla is a wonderful combination. I know my fellow Sweet Orange lovers and all those Sweet & Smooth fans are going to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product! I can't wait to have people try it!

Favorite Product #4

I don't know if people from the home office are reading my blog or if we are just all on the same wave length! In this week's rep newletter our Product Development and Education Manager was asked to pick her 3 favorite products. Well, she couldn't narrow it down to three so she listed her top 6! It is hard to just pick one or three or five favorites since it depends on what it is for or what issue I am having right now. Now I don't feel so bad about having 12 that are on my favorite list! So ... are you wondering what this week's favorite product is?

It's Sensaria's Nourishing Moisturizer! For a long time, I hesitated to order this product for myself since this product is for dry skin and I have the opposite problem. A good friend of mine has dry skin and absolutely loves this lotion. She actually buys it in the large 6oz size tube because she uses it all over her body! In fact, this is our only facial lotion (yes, it was originally designed to use on your face) that comes in a bigger size. People just can't get enough of it! For anyone who asks me if we have an unscented Body Butter, I recommend that they try this product out since it has no scent and it is great for dry skin.

Anyway, why is it on MY favorite list? My son has had eczema since about birth and we have been trying to find something to soothe and heal his skin for about three years. We went through numerous doctor recommended products for his eczema. We even eventually had to resort to prescription creams but they can't be used on a regular basis because it damages the skin. Great huh? So, the prescription cream gets used when it flares up but I still needed something else to use between the bad times. We tried all the creams that you can find in any drug store but my son did not like a single one. Either it was too greasy or he told me they stung or sometimes he just plain didn't like it. I really hesitated about spending $21 on a cream for my 3 year old (at the time) but I thought ... aww heck why not? I could always give it to my friend who couldn't get enough of it right?

Well, it turned out to be the ONLY lotion that my son liked and asked for. He calls it his "blue lotion" since the color really is blue! It isn't some artificial color because we don't have those in our products. The blue comes from the ingredient Azulene which is derived from the Chamomile plant. It is naturally soothing and calming plus it wasn't greasy or slimy or whatever unpleasant feeling the other lotions left my son's skin feeling. It absorbed very nicely and I only had to use a very small amount. It shouldn't surprise me that it actually WORKS but it really did! We now have at least two tubes in the house ... one upstairs and one with his allergy medicines that we carry with us everywhere we go.

Favorite Product #3

I didn't feel like sharing the tip from our weekly newsletter this week because it talked about two products that I don't use very much. I feel like it's not fair to post about products I can't full heartedly recommend. I mean, I know they are good but since I don't use them on a regular basis ... it's hard to be sincere about it you know? So, instead I will continue to share my list of favorite products with you! Today's product is on the discontinued list so it doesn't really count but here goes anyway.

Line Diminisher is one of my all time favorite products and I am so sad to hear that it will be discontinued on August 1st!! It's been really hard for me to find an eye cream that I like so I was so happy when I found this one. It's not just for eyes however since you can use it on any fine lines like around your lips and mouth. I mostly use it for my eyes though.

Sensaria's web site says this about it, "A luxurious eye cream containing light reflecting pigments to soften the skin and diminish the appearance of fine lines. A combination of plant extracts soothe and help increase skin's firmness while Green Tea and Grape Seed provide protection against free radicals. Eye area appears bright, smooth and younger-looking."

I have oily skin and most eye creams are too rich for me. I just don't like anything that has a greasy or heavy feel to it. I was using our Eye Cream before I discovered the Line Diminisher. The Eye Cream is still a bit too much for me even if I use a teeny, tiny amount. You do know that the skin around your eyes is much thinner than the rest of the skin on your face and that it does not have any oil glands to help with hydration? That is why you get wrinkles more easily there. Also, that is why you need a specialized product just for that delicate area.

So anyway ... I love the Line Diminisher because you also use a teeny, tiny amount on the tips of your ring fingers. Tap your ring finger tips together to distribute it evenly. Then pat it gently under your eyes and up around your eyelids too. It's great if you have a bit leftover to dab some around your mouth area too. I just love that the light reflecting minerals brighten my eye area and even though it is very rich, it absorbs into a silky smooth texture. Well, I am stocking up this month on it but I hope the new fall products that will be revealed next week at Convention will have something even better to replace it with. Favorite Product #2

In today's rep newsletter, the tip for this week was about how we can sell the June specials. Not much of a tip to share with you! So, I will continue to add a new favorite product to my blog instead! I picked this product because I got a question from someone about what they can do about dark circles under their eyes. Well, one of my favorite products combats those dark circles, puffiness, fine lines and hydrates too. It's no wonder this product is a favorite among many of my customers and representatives too! Can you guess what it is?

Optimize Rejuvenating Eye Serum
has worked wonders on my dark circles. They are not completely gone but they are greatly diminished. There are a ton of reasons why people have dark circles under their eyes but I bet mine are related to my allergies. It could also be hereditary as well. Plus, every year I get older (imagine that!) and there is less and less collagen in my skin. It acts as a barrier so the thinner your skin gets (less collagen) then the more likely you are to see the blood vessels underneath. Great!

I found this little tidbit from Wikipedia: "In most cases the dark circles under the eyes are blood vessels that can be seen through the skin. The skin around the eyelids is the thinnest skin in the body. Like varicose veins, dark circles under the eyes are usually an inherited trait. When blood passes through the large veins close to the surface of the skin it can produce a bluish tint. The more transparent the skin the darker the circles appear. In people with a deep-set bone structure, shadowing contributes to the dark color under the eyes."

I also found an informative article on The New York Times that says, "[T]he most likely culprit causing chronic dark circles, dermatologists say, is excess pigmentation in the skin. Dilated blood vessels that sit close to the thin under-eye skin are another cause, doctors said. And airborne allergens, which cause blood to pool in the vessels under the skin, can worsen their appearance."

So, what can we do about them? Well, drinking lots of water and getting enough rest is a basic remedy. You can also put sliced cucumbers on your eyes too. It's a temporary fix since the cucumber is 90% water and it is the cooling effect of the water that helps more than the actual cucumber. It does calm, soothe and reduce the puffiness but it doesn't last very long. In fact, I stumbled across a blog called My Dark Circles and it has a few articles about some natural remedies that were interesting to read too.

Still, I think the best way to treat those dark circles is by using Optimize Rejuvenating Eye Serum. It contains these key ingredients that pack a powerful punch:

Favorite Product #1

It's Monday again and there wasn't anything really "tip" worthy in our newsletter this week so I am on my own again! I did however get a really nice email from a fellow rep (hi Brenda!) who loves my blog and had a tip about a product I have failed to mention so far. It was surprising to me since it is one of my favorite products but I tend to forget to talk about it sometimes.

Anyway, this sparked an idea with me! I decided to share my top 12 products with you! Each post will focus on a different product. That is at least 12 posts to look forward to right? Maybe it is weird to have a Top 12 list instead of the normal Top 10? Well, it was so hard to come up with just 10 products so I squeezed in two more! I almost thought about ranking my top 12 products but I use them all for such different reasons. So in no particular order let's start with...

Center Pulse Point Cream or CPPC as I like to shorten it. The name is long but man, it is amazing! I love the stimulating peppermint oil and menthol that open up the blood vessels which help me relax and de-stress. I use it on sore muscles or when I have a headache or sometimes when I have had a bad day and need a time out. Sometimes there are days that I cannot focus or I need a pick up during the middle of the day. Did you know that peppermint oil helps to increase mental clarity? It really works too! Here is how I use it...

1) Take one pump and distribute evenly over the tips of your fingers on both hands.
2) Massage gently onto your temples, back of your neck, shoulders and behind your earlobs.
3) Hold your hands up to your nose and breathe deeply.

If you are having sinus troubles, dab a tiny amount under your nose. If you have a sore muscle, rub it directly on the offending area and massage gently. It will tingle a little bit but that means it is working! Make sure to avoid the eye area and wash your hands after using it in case you accidently rub your eyes later.

Brenda, my fellow rep and tip giver, told me this is her #1 favorite product! In fact, she refers to it as her "American Express, I don’t leave home without it" because she keeps one in her purse, one at work, one at home and one in her demo kit! This product has been her answer for migraines and says that she needs "just a little on my temples, ear lobes and back of my neck and voila, no more headache!" Give Your Hair the Spa Treatment

It's a new week and there is a new tip in our representative newsletter! It always amazes me how much information they can pack each week into our newsletter. It has really helped keep me on track and moving my business forward.

So, anyway ... this week's tip is for your hair since it might be getting damaged by the sun or chlorine if you are out in a pool or water park. Maybe your hair just isn't getting that extra special treatment anymore? Or maybe it never did? Well, treating your hair doesn't have to take all day or an expensive trip to the salon.

All you need is our Cherry Almond Reconstructive Conditioner. It is really wonderful for dry or chemically-treated hair but any hair that is damaged will benefit from its use. You can start with Sensaria's Cherry Almond Reconstructive Shampoo and then follow with the conditioner ... or just pick up the conditioner for an extra special treat. The directions on the conditioner say to leave it in for 10 minutes before rinsing it out. That is of course going to give you the best results but you can do a quick treatment in the shower too.
